Over 12,000 people in the UK become unpaid carers each day. When you become an unpaid carer there's no course to attend or manual to read showing you what to do. For many, it's merely a case of having to work things out little by little and day by day. For new carers it can bring a multitude of different emotions as well as being extremely overwhelming. We really want to help make the start of someone's transition and journey as an unpaid carer as easy as possible.

How to enter

1. To enter all you need to do is tell us in your own words, what advice you would give someone that has just started their journey as an unpaid carer. Your advice can be as long as you want but must be a minimum of 10 words.

2. Head to the CarersCardUK Facebook or Twitter page, follow us and then add your piece of advice in the comments section of this post. The links can be found below.

You must follow us on Facebook or Twitter and post your advice in the comments section. At 5pm on Friday 9th June our panel will pick their favourite piece of advice* and whoever has provided this will receive £100 and x10 runner-up entries will also be chosen and receive £10 each. Even if you're not picked, at the very least you'll be helping other new carers with your advice.

Winners and runners-up will be announced on the CarersCardUK website, app and social media platforms. Each winner will be contacted directly by a member of the CarersCardUK team with information about claiming their prize.
