Do I need to provide any documentation?
We understand that not all people recognise that they’re carers. In fact, according to the NHS, it can take an average of two years for someone to even acknowledge their role as a carer. Also, a large proportion of carers don’t have any official documentation stating that they’re a carer. Approx. 90% of carers in the UK do not hold any documentation to prove this but are in need of support. It’s vitally important that we don’t exclude or create barriers to anyone wanting our Carers Card. Therefore, as part of our registration process, we will not ask you to provide any official documentation. However, you will be asked a series of questions which will enable us to validate your suitability for the card. You will also be given the opportunity to connect with your local care organisation or hub should you wish to do so. Our card fee is £8 for 2-years membership. Not sure if you're eligible? Will registering for the card affect my other benefits?

Once registered you can add the other people you care for in your account. You can also create an 'emergency plan' for each person.

What is a carers ID card?
A carers ID card is a physical card that comes in the shape of a standard credit card. You can use it to inform others, such as shops or attractions, that you look after someone.

Can I register for the card if I care for more than one person?
Yes. When you register for our card you will be asked to provide the details of the "Primary caree". This is the person you provide the most significant or primary care and support to in your life. If you provide equal care and support to more than one caree then you can simply put the details of the eldest person. Once your registration is complete you’ll be able to log onto your account and then add the details of any other people your care for.

How long does it take to register?
Registering for your ID card takes roughly 4 to 5 minutes. If you have a photo of yourself ready to upload then it could take even less time.

What do I need to order my card?
You will need to take a photo during registration or upload one from your device. This will be used on the card itself as part of your identification (much like a driving license or passport). Finally, you will need to have a debit or credit card ready so that you can pay for your card.

Do I have to go to a photo booth to get my ID photo?

Why do you charge for your carers ID card?
We fully appreciate that caring for someone can place a huge financial burden on a carer’s financial resources. It’s for this reason we have tried to keep the cost of our card as low as possible. It’s important that we cover the costs of producing our ID cards. Costs include; paying our staff to administer the service, server & storage costs, insurance, card production and postage. Reducing the cost of our card further would mean providing a much inferior product which we do not want to do. We also try to offset the cost of our card by providing access to great discounts, offers and perks. We also have regular free giveaways.

Are my details shared with any third parties?
No. We do not share your details with any third parties without your full prior consent to do so.

Are you fully GDPR compliant?
Yes. We’re absolutely committed to your privacy. Our services will constantly evolve and new features will be added. However, our privacy principles will remain unchanged. We do not share your information with third parties without your explicit knowledge and permission. We will always adhere to any laws that govern our user's rights when it comes to their personal information.
