New feature added - My Support
Here at Carers Card UK we're always striving to add new and innovative features and functionality to our platform.
Each and every feature we develop and make available are specifically designed to help carers and the role they play in caring for someone. This is why we are extremely excited to announce the launch our new "My Support" area. Our "My Support" area is a hub where carers can access a wealth of information, contacts, help and guides that can help in their day to day lives. The "My Support" area will initially launch with six sub sections which are outlined below.
Support services
Our Support services section enables carers to connect directly with both local care organisations and local authorities. These institutions are a great source of support and provide a wealth of information for unpaid family and friends who look after someone. They're also at hand to help provide the information you need to make choices about your life and your caring role.
Legal help
Foe some carers caring is something they do out of love and simply because it feels like the right thing to do. While others simply have no choice. This is why we've created a section that allows you to obtain information about your legal rights as a carer and easily connect with organisations that can help with any legal issues you may have in the future.
Counselling
Caring for someone can bring a plethora of different feelings, thoughts and emotions and sometime these can has a negative effect on a carer's life. We believe that it can sometimes be helpful for a carer to talk to someone that's not directly connected or emotionally involved with their situation. Counselling is a great way to explore your feelings and the relationship you have with the person you care for. They can help you find your own solutions and make decisions about your life. Our Counselling section now makes it easier for you to understand the role of counselling and seek help if you feel that this can help.
Money
It's reported that a staggering 2 in every 5 carers will struggle financially. Therefore, managing your money when you're caring for someone is important. Our Money section has been created to help carers connect with their local care organisation or authority so that they can talk to someone about their financial situation and run through any benefits, incentives or payments that they may be entitled to.
Carers Assessment
Caring can be challenging at the best of times. That's why it's important that we help make the lives of carers as easy as possible. One of the best ways to do this is to have what is known as a carer's assessment. The result of your carer's assessment could mean that you're entitled to extra support which could make a world of difference. As a "Carers Card UK" card holder we now have a dedicated area that tells you; what a carer's plan is, what you could get from it, if you're eligible and how to apply for one.
Wellbeing
Carers provide invaluable support and help to their family, friends and loved ones, whether this is for physical or mental health problems. However, the mental health needs of carers are often neglected. This is why our Wellbeing section fits neatly within the new My Support section. Our section is full of guides, tools and resources all aimed at helping carers look after their own health both physically and mentally.
The My Support area will always grow with new information, added functionality, services and features. Not a card holder? Then why not get your carers ID card today!
